On to more important things – like when is Santa coming?!
NORAD (North American Aerospace Defense Command) uses the North Warning System to track the location of Santa on Christmas Eve so as to keep anxious kiddos, like myself, up to date on when he’ll be dropping by.
This is a 51 year-old tradition that came about accidentally after a store advertised Santa’s Hotline number as the Continental Air Defense Command (predecessor of NORAD). Ever since, NORAD staff has, and will personally respond to phone calls from sleepless children on Christmas Eve! (For the complete story visit Calgary Country’s website.)
I’ll be keeping a close eye on Santa via www.noradsanta.org and I’m sure to call the hotline at 1-877-Hi-NORAD if the Internet connection goes down!

We're All Sick!
I was sick and now Gavin is sick (but not Mom, she refuses)! I had the Croup last week and now Gavin is sick with a cold this week.
Mom is a bit angry with her breast milk because she says it’s suppose to protect babies from illness and infection – she figures she has to up the anty. So she’s garlic-ing herself up with some homemade Garlic Chicken Soup.
Mom fixed me up with lots of cuddles and she let me eat chicken noodle soup in the living room while laying on the couch – that was a first and sort of fun! She also sent Dad into town to buy a Cool Mist Humidifier. She now refers to it as her ‘secret weapon’.
But with Gavin…poor snotty Gavin! He’s so itty-bitty, how will she fix him? I’m sure it’ll all pan-out. Besides Gavin has his two-month check-up on Thursday, so the wonderful Dr. Heeg is sure to fix him all up!
I'll keep you posted...Emma

Mom Is Thirty!
Wow, she's old! That's 28 years older than me! That's really, REALLY old!
Dad and I made her a cake and a card. The cake looks really good! I sprinkled it with chocolate chips and candy sprinkles. I can't wait for Dad to get back from the airport because Mom says we're going to have a piece of it for my afternoon snack! Imagine, cake for an afternoon snack?! That never happens here, my snack always has to be healthy-schmealthy. Blah! I can't wait...we're having cake! Yummmmmm!
Mom says she's going to put pictures up of the cake on our family website (http://thekbfamily.tripod.com) later on tonight - then everyone will be able to witness the masterpiece I created (with a little help from Dad)!

When Sleep Ends To Early
When the toddler in your life wakes too early in the morning, she is sure to be cranky. What to do with a cranky toddler? Who knows!
I woke an hour and ten minutes earlier than what I normally do today, and all morning mum had to put up with my crankiness. Poor mum! And with Gavin on top of that - mum is tired and can hardly wait for her weekly 'alone time' this evening (which consists of grocery shopping).
Usually crankiness can be 'cured' with cuddles and talking softly, while reading books or discussing this or that. Notice the use of the word 'usually'. Sometimes it works, sometimes it don't!
It is difficult to be a toddler! Hardly anyone understands you, you need an interpreter (usually Mum), you either are or aren't toilet trained (either way, its difficult), your learning so many things you can't keep them straight, then you throw in not enough sleep on top of that - like I said, being a toddler is tough.
Hopefully I'm in a better mood tomorrow...
